The FSSAI State License is a mandatory food safety certificate required for medium-sized Food Business Operators (FBOs) in India operating within a single state. It is issued by the respective State Licensing Authority through the official FoSCoS Portal.
Eligibility Criteria
Your food business must apply for a State License if it meets any of the following operational or financial scales:
Annual Turnover: The business earns between ₹12 Lakhs and ₹20 Crores per year.
Manufacturing/Processing Capacity: Up to 2 Metric Tonnes (MT) per day (excluding grains, cereals, and pulses milling units).
Dairy Units: Handling between 501 and 50,000 litres of milk per day.
Hotels: All 3-star and 4-star hotels.
Catering/Restaurants: Large caterers, restaurants, and food suppliers operating within a single state.
Storage & Transporters: Cold storage or warehouses with a capacity of up to 10,000 MT, or transporters with a turnover of up to ₹30 Crores.
